This weekend marks the inaugural Women’s Wilderness Weekend 401Gives team up during the United Way of RI’s four-day online giving marathon supporting local charities, and we need your support!

A state-wide campaign to support local nonprofits, 401Gives offers everyone a chance to make a positive difference in the community. On April 1, 2022, 507 nonprofit partners raised more than $3.1 million from more than 13,000 donors in one day during the fundraising drive.

Women’s Wilderness Weekend is asking your help recovering from the challenging pandemic years, during which we strove to keep the organization active with single-day outdoor events. That was necessary because the pandemic prevented us from using the The Episcopal Conference Center (ECC), which closed since being inside with groups of people outside your household was discouraged nation-wide by medical advisors.

Demand for our comeback weekend, May 5-7, nears record numbers, but our resources are thin after those shoe-string outdoor years. Please visit the Women’s Wilderness Weekend 401Gives team up page and help make this comeback a banner year!

Donations are sought to support:

1) The Leslie Scott Memorial Scholarship Fund providing financial support to women attendees to the weekend, for full or part of the attendance cost, depending on need.

2) Weekend enrichment, expanding programs offered during our two annual weekends, including wellness, adult education, artistic expression workshops, and outdoor recreation.

3) Expanding the number of weekends offered during the year.

4) Aiding our efforts to reach, engage, and spend weekend retreats with more women.
