Women’s Hike: Big River Management Area Feb. 16, 2020
Big River Management Area in West Greenwich encompasses 8,600 acres of open space, and the ladies of Women’s Wilderness Weekend are going to explore a bit of it Sunday with their women’s hike starting at 2 p.m. Women of 18 and older and walks of life are invited to join us and get to know our lovely, adventurous group!
Big River is the largest, publicly owned piece of land in Rhode Island. Its borders extend through portions of the towns of West Greenwich, East Greenwich, Coventry, and Exeter. Enter 1 Burnt Sawmill Rd, West Greenwich, RI 02817-2281 into your directions app or GPS and you’ll be directed to the parking lot where we’ll meet and start our hike.
We’ll take a leisurely hike through the woods and enjoy each other’s company.
Be sure to wear at least an orange hat, as is required until the end of February, for safety’s sake and state law, during hunting season.
We will have orange vests available if you forget. As always on a hike, proper footwear is a must, and bring a water bottle too.
You can ask questions about this event and see others’ comments about it on our Facebook page. Leave a comment there, chat with us about the hike, and break the ice before we meet in person!
